Small as an ant,
Blood on the ground,
Kids on the streets,
Beggars on the side walks,
Stealers, Killers and Kidnappers out of jail,
City full of fright
They tell me you are brutal, and I believe them
For which I have seen people covered in blood dead on the streets
I have seen the children with no future which they are begging on the streets.
They tell me you are a crook and I reply, yes for as I have read more people die every day. For as I have seen people kill and kill and they are free.
They tell me you are wicked and I say yes because I have seen families torn apart for the lack of food.
And I answer so I turn once more to those who sneer at my city and I give them back the sneer and say:
I am proud of the city I live in. I am proud of the city in which I was born. I am proud of the city that gives me my education and my food.
Come tell me another city that the people are so proud to call themselves CATRACHOS.
Come and show me another city that unites every time the seleccion goes out and play.
We are small and we do not appear in most maps but we are proud and we stand for our city any time
Slothful as ever, Never cared for no one and walking every morning to work scared for those who do wrong.
Killing
Stealing
Kidnapping
Assaulting
Rebellion
Crying, desperation, and wanting more
Under the rain and mud laughing for which a rainbow comes
Under the smoke of factories and pollution we laugh as the little boys and girls do
Laughing as an ignorant man who has never gone to school
Laughing and showing off that white shirt that says peace
Laughing!
Laughing the sweaty, smelly, lazy old man who has worked for hours proud to be a CATRACHO
Small as an ant,
Blood on the ground,
Kids on the streets,
Beggars on the side walks.
